Saurania ( Ancient Greek: Σαυρανία), or Sauronisena, [1] or Saunaria (Σαυναρία), [2] was a town of ancient Pontus, inhabited during Roman and Byzantine times. [3] It was in the later province of Pontus Polemoniacus, and mentioned by Ptolemy. [2]

Its site is tentatively located near Gölköy in Asiatic Turkey. [3] [4]
