Monson is a census-designated place (CDP) in Tulare County, California. [2] Monson sits at an elevation of 325 feet (99 m). [2] The 2010 United States census reported Monson's population was 188.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP covers an area of 0.5 square miles (1.3 km2), all of it land.
Demographics
At the 2010 census Monson had a population of 188. The population density was 382.3 inhabitants per square mile (147.6/km2). The racial makeup of Monson was 121 (64.4%) White, 1 (0.5%) African American, 5 (2.7%) Native American, 4 (2.1%) Asian, 0 (0.0%) Pacific Islander, 57 (30.3%) from other races, and 0 (0.0%) from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 147 people (78.2%). [3]
The whole population lived in households, no one lived in non-institutionalized group quarters and no one was institutionalized.
There were 49 households, 21 (42.9%) had children under the age of 18 living in them, 32 (65.3%) were opposite-sex married couples living together, 6 (12.2%) had a female householder with no husband present, 4 (8.2%) had a male householder with no wife present. There were 3 (6.1%) unmarried opposite-sex partnerships, and 0 (0%) same-sex married couples or partnerships. 6 households (12.2%) were one person and 3 (6.1%) had someone living alone who was 65 or older. The average household size was 3.84. There were 42 families (85.7% of households); the average family size was 4.00.
