Wooden buildings which have exceptional heights are listed in this article, starting with the highest wooden structures.

The tallest ever wooden structure was the tower of Mühlacker radio transmitter (190 metres or 620 feet, destroyed in 1945). However according to some sources [1] wooden radio masts with heights of 220 metres were realized in Russia, but no data are available when and where these structures were realized. The tallest standing wooden structure is currently the Gliwice Radio Tower (118 metres or 387 feet), located in Gliwice, Poland.

In a narrower sense these structures are not buildings. The tallest building has been the Sanctuary of Truth, a 105-metre-high (344 ft) temple in Pattaya, Thailand. [2] The previous record holder, the 67-metre-high (220 ft) Pagoda of Fogong Temple, was built 900 years ago.

Randsburg Wash Target Test Towers (Buildings 70021 and 70022) [11] 109.73 n/a Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake 1951-2023 As of February 2023, the second tallest human-constructed free-standing wooden structures in the world, the two Randsburg Wash Target Test Towers (Buildings 70021 and 70022) situated at 35°32′13″N 117°14′59″W / 35.53694°N 117.24972°W / 35.53694; -117.24972 are significant for their role in the naval testing of proximity or variable time (VT) fuzes, a vital element of the U.S. Navy's weapons program. The towers played a key role in the Cold War proximity fuze test program at the U.S. Navy's Randsburg Wash facility, a program that eventually led to the Navy adapting the use of these fuzes to guided missiles. The towers are important on a national level during the period of significance between 1952 and 1960; the years in which the most important achievements in the U.S. Navy's developments of the properties and attributes of proximity fuzes. The towers are also significant for their unique engineering achievement, as 360 foot-tall, pyramidal wood towers. Targets are suspended between the two towers.
