^ Certain award groups do not simply award one winner. They recognize several different recipients, have runners-up, and have third place. Since this is a specific recognition and is different from losing an award, runner-up mentions are considered wins in this award tally. For simplification and to avoid errors, each award in this list has been presumed to have had a prior nomination.
The following is a list of awards and nominations received by American director, producer, and screenwriter
Quentin Tarantino . In 1994, for his work on
Pulp Fiction , he was nominated for the
Academy Award for
Best Director and for
Best Original Screenplay , winning the latter. While Pulp Fiction was nominated for Best Picture, Tarantino wasn't a listed producer. He was nominated for the same categories in 2009 for
Inglourious Basterds , and in 2012 he again won Best Original Screenplay for
Django Unchained . He received his first
Best Picture nomination for
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood due to his producer’s credit.
