DescriptionWater temperature off the California coastline.jpg
English: This image shows water temperature off the coast of California. Upwelling along the coast, occurring north of Point Conception (34.5 N), brings cooler water up to the surface. Because the strength of upwelling is not uniform along the coast, the extent of the cooler water also varies. Upwelled water moves offshore in filaments that often occur near points.
