A Cache Creek Man-Basket. IPlaU ti\ those of the Pomos to know that they were very interesting,as were, their religious beliefs. Physically the Pomos were rather fine specimens. Especiallywas this true about Clear Lake. Many of the men were sixfeet high, of powerful build, and weighing one hundred andeighty to two hundred and twenty pounds. The women wereshort and very broad. Probably the heavy loads they carriedfrom childhood up had something to do with this. Interesting as the customs of the Pomos are, they wouldhardly have been heard of away from the region they inhabitwere it not that as basket makers they are wonderfully pro-ficient. \
