Spain). It's the western side of the square base, sculpted in stone in a Neo-gothic style by
Arturo Mélida (1849–1902). Relief represents queen
Isabella (centre) offering to pawn her jewels in aid of Columbus' (left) enterprise. At the right, a prayer kneeler with a crucifix.
