Description
English: Launching - October 11, 1968, at 11:03 am EST, Complex 34. The Saturn Launch Vehicle, carrying the Apollo 7 spacecraft, is photographed at more than 35,000 feet above the Atlantic Ocean from an C-135 aircraft. Aboard the spacecraft were Astronauts Walter Schirra, Donn Eisele, and Walter Cunningham. The Airborne Lightweight Optical Tracking System is an airborne precision photographic system that can provide information on launch vehicles during the early launch stage, separation and reentry phases of the flight.
