The Duluth City Council is the legislative branch of the government of Duluth, Minnesota. It is responsible for passing ordinances, resolutions, and regulations governing the city. The council also oversees the city's financial operations, including the annual budget, and serves as a check against the Mayor of Duluth in a mayor-council government model. [1]

Composition

The Council is composed of nine members: five councilors represent specific districts within the city, and four are elected at large, representing the entire city. Council members serve staggered four-year terms. The position of council president rotates among members and is elected annually by the council. [2] [3]
