Coyote Wells is an unincorporated community in Imperial County, California. [1] It is located on the San Diego and Arizona Eastern Railway 24 miles (39 km) west of El Centro, [2] at an elevation of 299 feet (91 m). [1]
There is a petrified forest in and around Yuha wash, about 10 miles (16 km) southwest of Coyote Wells. [3]
During World War II the US Navy built two airstrips at Coyote Wells to support NAS San Diego. [4]
