Sam Aaron Baker, over the
Democratic candidate, Arthur W. Nelson,
Socialist candidate William M. Brandt, and
Socialist Labor nominee
William Wesley Cox. Baker had defeated lieutenant governor
Hiram Lloyd and
Victor J. Miller for the Republican nomination.
