Shield: The colors of the shield represent the National colors of the Philippines and the United States. The crossed kris and Igorot war shield represent the two dominant war-like pagan tribes of the islands.
Crest: The three stars are taken from the Philippine flag and symbolize Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, the three principal islands.
Background: The coat of arms was approved on 20 October 1942. It was rescinded/cancelled on 10 August 1959.
